Daniel Barlow is a highly experienced TransforMATive Associate, specialising in Data and Systems. He supports schools and Multi-Academy Trusts to review and optimise their investment in technology, ensuring that systems drive both efficiency and impact. With deep expertise in Management Information Systems (MIS), Daniel helps organisations unlock data-led decision making and deliver measurable improvements through best practice use of systems and processes.
Daniel brings over 20 years of experience working directly within schools and Trusts, including senior leadership roles as Director of Data and ICT for two growing Multi-Academy Trusts. In these roles he provided strategic direction at executive level, aligning ICT and data systems with organisational goals while ensuring scalability and optimisation for future growth.
His experience extends to the supplier side, having spent nearly four years with a leading MIS provider supporting some of the country’s largest Trusts. This gave him valuable insight into large-scale operations and change management, as well as a unique perspective on bridging the relationship between schools and suppliers.
Daniel has dedicated his entire career to education, driven by a desire to make a positive difference in young people’s lives. His work continues to focus on enabling large-scale transformation that strengthens the sector and improves life chances for students.
Away from his professional commitments, Daniel is proud of once captaining his rugby team to a national final and playing at Twickenham. Although his boots are firmly hung up, he will happily share the story of running out at Twickers.
Daniel Barlow exemplifies the TransforMATive mission to harness expertise, strategy and technology to deliver real impact across education.
