Emma Darcy is a dedicated TransforMATive Associate, working with schools and Multi-Academy Trusts to shape digital strategies that are inclusive, impactful and rooted in equity. She helps organisations build confidence and capability in using technology to enhance teaching and learning, always keeping people at the centre of the process. Increasingly, Emma supports Trusts with their strategic approach to AI, guiding them to explore how emerging technologies can be used safely, responsibly and with a clear focus on improving outcomes for learners.

With over 20 years of experience in education, Emma has consistently harnessed the power of technology to improve opportunities and create more equitable learning environments. She has led initiatives such as one-to-one device rollouts and continues to pioneer digital strategy in her role as Director of Technology for Learning at Denbigh High School, Luton, where her work has been recognised as a UNESCO Best Practice Case Study. Across her time at the Chiltern Learning Trust, Emma has driven digital innovation, culminating in the Trust winning the MAT Excellence Award for Digital Innovation in 2024. During the pandemic, she led Denbigh’s work as a DfE EdTech Demonstrator School and contributed to sector-wide dialogue as a member of the Bett Advisory Board. Her leadership has been recognised with the Gold Pearson National Teaching Award for Digital Innovator of the Year and the Global EdTech Award for Most Impactful Senior Member of Staff.

Looking ahead, Emma is passionate about the potential of technology to enable accessibility, inclusion and personalised learning. Through her collaborations with organisations such as Apps for Good and the AI in Education initiative, she continues to shape policy and practice so that every learner, regardless of circumstance, has the opportunity to thrive.

When Emma is not immersed in digital strategy, she can usually be found in the garden. With a strong interest in sustainability, she finds balance and grounding in nature, providing an important counterpoint to her work in a world increasingly defined by technology and AI.

Emma Darcy embodies the TransforMATive mission of equipping education with strategies that are people-centred, forward-thinking and impactful.
